Executive Overview

Meeras Kashmir is an artisanal direct-to-consumer digital flagship marketing high-ticket Kashmiri exports (Grade-A Mongra Saffron, wild Gucchi morels, organic walnuts). It combines luxury editorial typography with a fault-tolerant payment settlement and logistics orchestration backend.

The Problem: High-Ticket Checkout Trust

In luxury artisanal commerce, dropped payment confirmations or oversold seasonal harvests destroy brand credibility immediately.

  • Customers frequently close mobile browsers immediately after seeing UPI payment checks, dropping standard client redirects.
  • Rare seasonal crops (wild morels, single-estate saffron) have strictly finite inventory prone to race conditions.
  • Warehouse fulfillment teams in Srinagar need immediate dispatch alerts without polling admin dashboards.

The Constraints: Asynchronous Settlement & Atomic Stock Locks

The checkout pipeline was engineered around server-to-server webhook authority and database-level concurrency.

Webhook Settlement Authority

Orders are never marked PAID based on client browser redirects. Settlement authority resides entirely in server-to-server PhonePe webhooks signed with HMAC-SHA256.

Atomic Inventory Decrements

Stock decrements are wrapped in a PostgreSQL stored procedure (decrement_stock_atomic) utilizing SELECT FOR UPDATE row-level locks to prevent double-selling.

Headless Telegram Alerting

Verified payment webhooks trigger an asynchronous event worker that formats and dispatches complete order manifest details to the warehouse in under 450ms.

Complete Sanitization Audit

The codebase was thoroughly audited to eliminate all proprietary merchant secrets and licenses before open-sourcing on GitHub.

Eliminating Payment Drop-Offs & Concurrency Races

By enforcing that database state only mutates upon verified HMAC-SHA256 webhook ingestion, Meeras completely eliminated orphaned payments caused by mobile browser drops.

Database row locks guarantee that if two customers attempt to purchase the final gram of Mongra saffron simultaneously, the second transaction safely rolls back with a clean out-of-stock response.

Staff Architecture Verdict
“By implementing asynchronous HMAC-SHA256 server-to-server webhook reconciliation and PostgreSQL atomic row-locking procedures, Meeras Kashmir eliminated payment drop-offs and inventory race conditions, while dispatching headless fulfillment alerts to regional logistics teams in under 450 milliseconds.”
